Going back to school in September can be an extremely stressful time of year. We know that stress can lead to breakouts, skin irritation & acne. When your body is stressed there becomes an imbalance in hormones and therefore an increase in sebum production which can cause clogged pours, inflammation and acne.
So what can you do to help prevent breakouts?
Get plenty of sleep – It is found that lack of sleep and inflammation are linked. If you are not sleeping deeply or long enough, you’re not giving your body a chance to repair and especially is the case when it comes to your skin. Since acne is an inflammatory disease we know that lack of sleep is directly related to increased breakouts.
Get back to a skincare routine – During the summer months your skincare routine might have gotten too relaxed. The key to keeping breakouts under control is to keep a clean face and washing morning & night are very important.
Develop a quick & easy routine for the morning – We all know that trying to get out the door to the first class in the morning can be challenging and even more challenging when you are trying to maintain a skincare regime. Make it simple and easy with your products set out in order of use. Use step #1 cleanser in your shower & then an acne gel & moisturizer if necessary. This will take just seconds to keep up with your morning routine and keep those breakouts away.
Stay hydrated – We’ve all heard this a million times “drink plenty of water” but this actually does work to stop breakouts Keeping hydrated throughout the day is one of the best ways to fight acne. Keeping your body and cells hydrated keeps them doing their job which is fighting off bacteria, reducing inflammation & keeping the skin looking refreshed.
Severe Breakouts: Cleanse with Wasabi Cleanser twice daily, follow with Wasabi Gel and mist throughout the day with Wasabi Toner to hydrate and fight acne “P” bacteria. 3 – 4 times a week use Charcoal Mud Masque to clean pores and slow down sebaceous glands.
